During our trip to Sandals Royal Barbados we enjoyed two wonderful excursions giving us opportunity to explore more of the island. We booked both of these excursions through Island Routes which is Sandals’ preferred tour company.
Our first adventure was a relaxing Sun, Sand and Snorkeling cruise. My husband loves to snorkel. It’s one of the things he enjoys the most when we are on a beach vacation. And this promised to be one heck of a snorkeling experience. The waters on the West Coast of Barbados are not only crystal clear but if you are really lucky you might be able to see some sea turtles. We were able to enjoy ample amount of rum punch on the relaxing catamaran which by the way is absolutely delicious and will definitely get you tipsy if you are not careful.
Then it was time to snorkel over a ship wreck. This was really neat and there was lots of beautiful, colorful fish but no turtles. Then we made our way to the second snorkel spot really hoping (and praying) for sea turtles. Our prayers were answered and we actually saw several. It was incredible being in the middle of the sea swimming with sea turtles. After we were done snorkeling, we had some more time to enjoy the boat, eat a delicious Bajan lunch washed down with more rum punch and just had a blissfully relaxing afternoon.
Our second adventure outside of the resort, we wanted to explore more of the rugged side of the island so we decided on a 4×4 Jeep Safari. If you are visiting Barbados this tour I HIGHLY recommend. Our guide was not only hilarious but so knowledgeable of the history and basically took us around most of the island with stopping to enjoy some of the major sights as seen below.

Barbados is an incredible island with some of the nicest people I’ve ever met. We can’t wait to return and explore more of this gorgeous place.
Which one of these tours would you do?
I’ve been to Barbados – but went when I was a teenager with my parents. We rented a car and drove around the island ourselves which was an adventure in and of itself 😬 Id love to actually tour the island with a guide! That sounds like a lot of fun!
I would have to go check out the area Rihanna grew up in.
Rihanna is considered their greatest export! We saw her mansion looks beautiful but it would be interesting to learn more about her upbringing.
Hello! I’ve read your reviews on both Grenada and Barbados, me and my fiancé are trying to pick one of these for our honeymoon and august, so you have a recommendation? We’ve never been to a sandals before
