Traveling is a huge passion of mine and as I am day dreaming about future trips, I am so excited to share with you my tips on how to save money on your next trip to Sandals Resorts!
Sandals is one of our favorite couples only resort chains in the Caribbean and we have been to 3 of their resorts. Sandals Resorts are wonderful if you are looking forward to romance and reconnecting with your significant other! In my opinion Sandals tend to be on the more expensive side compared to similar resorts and since I love a good deal I have learned several tips on how to get the best deal.
Here is 8 ways how you can save money on Sandals Resorts:
1. Sandals Select Rewards:
This is a free to join rewards program that you earn points and rewards the more you stay! You can earn points which you can apply to save money on your next Sandals trip. Just simply enroll into Sandals Select Rewards and start earning points just for signing up.
As a member of the program you also get a bottle of Appleton Rum during each of your stays and the higher level you are the more perks you get! In room treats, special events, free massages are just some of them. The ultimate perk is once you’ve stayed for 70 paid nights at any Sandals/Beaches properties you will earn a free trip to Sandals! That’s right just pay for airfare and enjoy a stay at any resort of your choice.
If you’ve previously stayed at Sandals but you didn’t know of this program you can try finding your previous stays to add them to your account once you’ve registered. I didn’t know about it our first stay in Barbados and was able to get the points for our stay added on easily.
2. Military/First Respondent Discount:
Military Personnel, firefighters, police officers and active FEMA members can receive additional 10% off your stay that can be added to any existing promotions! This is an amazing discount! To receive after you book your stay, immediately call 1-888-SANDALS and have them add this discount to your account. You will need proper identification/proof of service when you check in at resort to confirm your service for the discount.
3. 7-7-7 sale:
Sandals runs an ongoing promotion that features 7 different rooms at various resort that get an additional 7% off that runs for 7 days. They change what rooms are on sale every Tuesday at 9PM(PT). Keep an eye out for these sales even after you book your trip because if the room you booked goes on sale before you are paid in full, you can call the number above to ask for a price adjustment and get the sale price!
4. Loyalty Discount when rebooking on property:
Every Sandals resort has a “Welcome back” desk where you can book your next stay at any Sandals or Beaches properties. As an incentive you will get 10-12% off your next stay! 10% if you book a luxury room, 11% off club or 12% off butler. Keep in mind you can still get current promotions such as 7-7-7 sale plus your service member discount!
This is an incredible way to save money, but do read the fine print before your book. You are able to change resorts or room types up until your balance is paid in full and still keep the loyalty discount. Your balance will need to be paid in full 90 days before your trip and you can move your dates up only by 6 months if needed. Promotions change so just make sure you read the purchase contract and look at restrictions before booking your next trip on site.
5. Free anniversary night:
You can receive one free night (on club level or higher room) if your trip is within 30 days of your anniversary! Once you book your Sandals trip, go to their website within 14 days and submit a copy of your marriage certificate. Keep in mind this can not be combined with loyalty discount but it can be combined with Military discount and 7-7-7 sale.
6. Honeymoon Perks:
Sandals seems to be a popular choices for couples especially honeymooners! If your honeymoon is within 30 days of your wedding you Sandals offers a free honeymoon package! This includes a bottle of sparkling wine in your room, a special turndown service with flower petals on your bed during your first night and a decadent breakfast and flowers in bed one morning of your choice. Make sure to register for this free package on their website!
7. Online sales on their website especially around Holidays:
If you would like to book a trip to Sandals consider waiting until the next big holiday! Sandals very often runs special promos on their website especially around major holidays.
I booked our trip to Antigua during Thanksgiving/black Friday sale and recieved free massages. I also booked our trip to Grenada during their Easter sale a couple of years ago and we received free massages and candlelight dinner on the beach. Their promotions vary so keep an eye on their website!
8. Don’t pay off your trip in full until due date:
With Sandals you are able to book a trip months even years out. Sandals is amazing because they allow you to make payments leading up to your trip. This is pretty nice because it helps make it more affordable and easier to budget for vs paying in one big sum. Of course you can pay off the balance anytime before due date if you wish.
I like to leave a small balance on my account until right before my due date/ I feel you have the most flexibility with Sandals before you are paid in full. Right before my last payment is when I add travel insurance through Sandals. As long as you are not paid in full you can cancel, make changes such as switch resorts or rooms or take advantage of price adjustment if the room you booked went on sale. Having that flexibility is the reason I keep a small balance on my account until due date. You will have a different due date depending on how you book (on property or online) so check with Sandals when your final payment is due!
